Sometimes I run in to people who are not very educated on the art world, and don’t know that you can have a job in many fields of art. One that a person can fully support themselves and their families on, and even find amazing financial success if they play their cards right….

I think some of you aren’t taking into account the most dream-shattering part of making a business out of one’s personal art, which is the audience. Furry art has it that there are few people actually appreciating one’s work, and the commissions sold by one tend to be 75% the desires of something kinky, that won’t get appreciation in a more serious context, and 25% the actual praise of one’s skills and the wish to have some of that and make it really valuable.

Now, if we talk more generally, playing the cards right isn’t just about creating what people might like, it also involves making a rupture in the normal schemes of art, and IGNORING DETRACTORS AND KEEPING UP. Problem with artists is that; they lack the understanding of the audience and what might be important about it, and with I go with critique, when we talk about creating something in particular, one’s limits compared to the preset limits of the art market when it comes to content, etc.

This, let it be clear, is my opinion.
